Dave Overbye
Dean of Academic Affairs for REALTOR® University
Dave Overbye is currently Dean of Academic Affairs for REALTOR® University, responsible for leading the development and delivery of all academic programs.
Prior to Joining REALTOR® University Dave was Dean of academic outreach for DeVry University where he was responsible for the management of the academic dimension of outreach activities relating to institutional articulation agreements, US military programs, corporate partnerships, and international partnerships. Before this, he was Dean of Curriculum for DeVry University, Director of Academic Affairs, Director of Curriculum, and MPM Program Director for the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Dave has taught graduate-level courses since 1988, primarily in the areas of information systems, telecommunications and project management.
In his early career, Dave held a variety of engineering and management positions in the utility industry. This included serving as Assistant Secretary and Manager of the Mortgage for a natural gas company where he was responsible for management of the net bondable property records supporting debt securities indentures.
Dave has extensive experience as an academic leader, having served in numerous senior roles as a program manager, director, and dean. His career focus has been on the management of multi-state, multi-level, regionally accredited educational institutions. He has provided leadership on numerous complex academic issues involving faculty, students, staff, accreditation and approvals, technology and pedagogy.
He has extensive experience with accreditation and the State regulation of institutions of higher learning. He serves as a consultant-evaluator for Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, in both the PEAQ and AQIP programs. He has also served as a program reviewer for the Ohio Board of Regents and the Military Installation Voluntary Educational Review system run by the US Department of Defense.
Dave holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering, as well as an MBA in Finance, from the University of Wisconsin, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Jonathan Salk
Dean of Student Services and Director of Board Services for REALTOR® University
Jonathan Salk is Dean of Student Services and Director of Board Services for REALTOR® University. Salk joined the National Association of REALTORS® Marketing and Business Development Team as Director, Special Projects in January 2010. He oversaw an internal team in determining key steps in advancing REALTOR® University to the next level. He began his work with NAR on the Game Changers Program in October 2009 as a consultant.
Salk, an association management professional with 28 years of experience, was most recently Chief Executive Officer of the CCIM Institute prior to joining REALTOR® University. His key responsibilities included the day-to-day operations of the Institute. As CEO, Salk oversaw Education Sales, Marketing and Logistics, Course Development and Production, Financial Management, Communications, Information Technology, International, Business Development and Membership.
Other responsibilities at CCIM included working with volunteer leadership and staff to plan, manage, direct and implement all CCIM programs and with volunteer leadership and senior staff on association management issues. During his 18 1/2 years at CCIM, Salk held various management positions, including Deputy Executive Vice-President, Senior Vice President of Operations, Vice-President of Membership and Vice-President of Education.
Salk’s other professional experience includes seven years in the chapter, regional, and conference areas with the American Public Works Association and a position with the General Accountability Office in Washington, D.C., where he helped monitor federal agencies.
Salk received a graduate degree with distinction from the American University in Washington, D.C. in Public Administration. He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. In December 2007, Salk earned a Certificate in Strategies in Nonprofit Management from the University of Chicago, Graham School of General Studies.
Marc Gould
Dean of the School of Professional Development & Continuing Education for REALTOR® University
Marc has been involved in real estate and real estate education for a decade. Since 2002, Marc has been the Vice-President of the National Association of REALTORS’® Business Specialties Group. In that capacity, Marc has grown the Real Estate Buyers’ Agent Council (REBAC), acquired and integrated the Senior Real Estate Specialist Council and launched NAR’s Green Designation.
Most recently, the Business Specialties Group has created NAR’s Short Sales and Foreclosures Resource Certification for its 1.2 million members. Prior to joining the National Association of REALTORS®, Marc was the Vice-President of Sales and Business Development for Dearborn Real Estate Education, the nation’s leading provider of real estate education. Marc has as an MBA from Loyola University Chicago and a BA in political science from the University of Michigan. Marc achieved the rank of Major as an officer in the United States Army Reserve.
