Dr. Overbye has over thirty years of experience as a manager and academic leader, having served in numerous senior roles as a program manager, director, and dean. His career focus has been on the management of multi-state, multi-level, regionally accredited educational institutions. He has provided leadership on numerous complex academic issues involving faculty, students, staff, accreditation and approvals, technology and pedagogy. He also has extensive experience with accreditation and the State regulation of institutions of higher learning. Dave holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering, as well as an MBA in Finance, from the University of Wisconsin, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Dean of Student Services and Director of Board Services for REALTOR® University
Salk is Dean of Student Services and Director of Board Services. He joined REALTOR® University in 2010. Responsibilities include operations, budget, program management, strategic planning, board liaison, client relations, tradeshows, fund-raising, brand recognition and the scholarship and mentor program.
An association management professional with 29 years of experience, Salk was most recently Chief Executive Officer of the CCIM Institute prior to joining REALTOR® University.
Salk received a graduate degree with distinction from American University in Public Administration and an undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from Drake University. Salk earned a Certificate in Strategies in Nonprofit Management from the University of Chicago.
Dean of the School of Professional Development & Continuing Education for REALTOR® University
Marc has been involved in real estate and real estate education for more than a decade. Since 2006, Marc has been the Vice-President of the National Association of REALTORS’® Business Specialties Group. In that capacity, Marc has grown the Real Estate Buyers’ Agent Council (REBAC), acquired and integrated the Senior Real Estate Specialist Council and launched several designations and certifications including NAR’s Green Designation.
Most recently, the Business Specialties Group has created NAR’s Military Relocation Professional Certification for its one million members. Prior to joining the National Association of REALTORS®, Marc was the Vice-President of Sales and Business Development for Dearborn Real Estate Education, the nation’s leading provider of real estate education. Marc has an MBA from Loyola University Chicago and a BA in political science from the University of Michigan. Marc achieved the rank of Major as an officer in the United States Army Reserve.
